Edith J Smith

Edith J. Smith, age 91 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021. She was born February 22, 1930 in New Vienna, Ohio to the late Delmas King and Ester Bentley. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Gregory S. Caldwell and her granddaughter, Susan Caldwell.

Edith is survived by her son, William Mark Caldwell; daughter-in-law, Kathy Caldwell; daughter-in-law, Tanis L. Caldwell; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, bonus children and her beloved cats. She is also survived by numerous family and friends.

Edith graduated from Wilbur Wright High School and went on to be an amazing LPN. She was an avid NASCAR fan. She also enjoyed reading, Garfield, and chatting with Fro. Edith was known for being a great story teller. She is well loved and will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.


Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on September 10, 2021 from at Newcomer Funeral Home - Kettering Chapel located at 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439.
