Edith O. Lloyd

Lloyd, Edith O., age 87, of Washington Township, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at the Oaks of West Kettering. Edith was born January 24, 1924 in Wingett Run, Ohio to the late Harold G. & Nellie M. (Howell) Carle.

Edith is survived by her husband of 62 years: Fergus C. Lloyd; sons and daughters-in-law: Ken (Judy) Horstmann, Dale (Shari) Horstmann, Larry (Janice) Lloyd; grandchildren: Cindy (Bob) Landrum, Bryan (Cynthia) Horstmann, Erik (Jennifer) Horstmann, Kurt (Katie) Horstmann, Tim (Susan) Lloyd, Adam (Shelley) Lloyd, Autumn (Brian) Grubb, Sonam Delma, Jessica Meeks; great grandchildren: Peyton Landrum, Brady Horstmann, Breanne Horstmann, Conner Horstmann, Tyler Horstmann, Camilla Grace Horstmann, Joshua Lloyd, Caleb Lloyd, Rebekah Lloyd, Benjamin Lloyd, Ashton Hepburn, Alyssa Grubb, Jewel Grubb; sister: Opal Gadwell; daughter-in-law: Barbara Horstmann; and numerous other family members and friends. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Clyde Horstmann and sisters: Mildred Hoffman & Mabel Robinson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 27, 2011 at Belmont Church of Christ, 3003 S. Smithville Road, Dayton, Ohio. Interment will follow the service at Heritage Hills Memorial Gardens in Springboro. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 26, 2011 from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Northwestern Ohio Christian Youth Camp, 8877 S. Township Rd. 131, McCutchenville, Ohio 44844 in memory of Edith, envelopes will be provided.

She was a wonderful helpmeet for 62 years. She dearly loved her family in every way possible. Being a Christian was very important to her and she loved the church her whole life.
