Edith Jewel Lovely, age 87 of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at her residence. She was born August 20, 1932 in Elk Valley, Tennessee the daughter of Joseph and Drusilla Sweeney.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Lovely; father, Joseph Sweeney; mother, Drusilla Sweeney; brothers, Kenneth Sweeney and Mickey Sweeney; sister, Billie Jean Rutherford and great-grandchild, Samuel J. Walters.
Edith loved gospel music and crafts. She loved playing the card games Hand & Foot and Uno.
Edith is survived by her daughters, Anita Lovely, Lora L. (Timothy) Barker and Crystal E. (Mark) Wilson; brothers, Paul (Gloria) Sweeney, Charlie (Helen) Sweeney, J.D. Sweeney and J.R. (Arlene) Sweeney; sister-in-law, Vivian Sweeney; brother-in-law, Morris Rutherford; eight grandchildren, Terry J. (Nikki) Hicks, Susan C. Hardy, Audrey K. (Ricky) Leonard, Amy N. (Ted) Terrell, Natalie G. (Tony) Walters, Charles Patrick Wilson, Joshua D. Wilson and Jeremy M. Wilson; twelve great-grandchildren, Abbie G. Walters, Tyler W. Hicks, Madison N. (Jesse) Knisley, Kylee L. (Pablo) Ramirez, Nathaniel L. Leonard, Isaiah J. Adams, Austin A. Hicks, Charlie A. Leonard, Brayden A. Walters, Elizabeth J. Adams, Angel L. Adams and Jackson R. Terrell; She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral Service will be held on February 6, 2020 at 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432.
