ELY, Earnest Lee "Peanut", age 58, of Dayton, passed away Friday, January 18, 2008. He was born October 20,1949 in Lee County, Virginia. He was a member of Moose Lodge 73, the Miami River Boat Club, and a veteran of the Vietnam Era serving with the United States Army. Earnie work and retired in 2005 from MIP, a division of Durion Company. He is survived by his life partner of 22 years, Bob Ford; siblings, Ruby (Junior) Fee, Paul Ely, Kathleen Monday, Robert (Louise) Ely, Junior Ely, David Ely, James Ely, Eugene (Jeany) Ely; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Robert Wood; special family friends, Sylvia Jeminez, James Dickhut, and Monica Nelson; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents, Apsy and Margie Ely; sister, Ruth Ingle; brother, Virgil D. "Pooch" Ely. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 20, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd.). Funeral services will be held Monday, January 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church (456 Woodman Dr.) with Father Mike Krectzer officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens. If desired, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
