Earldean Mercer

Earldean Mercer, age 96, went home to be with the lord on March 20th, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Volney E. Mercer Sr, who died in 2011 and by her two daughters; Carol Belcher who died in 2013 and Cynthia Hawkins who died in 2020. She is also preceded in death by her 5 sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Volney Mercer Jr. (Liza) and Carla Davis (Gary); son in law Clarence Hawkins; grandchildren Craig Belcher, Daniel Belcher, Leona Peyton (Shane), Charity Henderson, Josh McClanahan (Jen), LaNay Mercer, Hallie Mercer, Devan Mercer, and Taylor Shaw; 14 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren . She is also survived in death by her 1 sister.

Earldean was born on January 3rd, 1926, to Minnie Lou Jones and Earl Creel. She was married to Volney Mercer Sr. on November 13th, 1943; they were married for 67 years. She loved going to church and spending time with her family. She will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 from 11:30am to 12:30pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio). A Funeral will follow at 12:30pm at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow and she will rest alongside her husband at Dayton National Cemetery.
