MILLNER, Duke A. age 22, of Xenia, passed away, Thursday, September 4, 2008. He was preceded in death by his father, Russ Millner; uncle, Ron Millner; and great-grandparents Virginia Jones, and Bill and Ruth Amlin. He is survived by his mother, Karen Miller; beloved sisters, Lynzi and Eileen Miller and their father Ed Miller (step-father); his grandparents, Jay and Sue Jones, Nina (Tommy) Millner, and Paul and Velma Miller; aunt Julie Jones-Goffe; uncle, Doug Jones; aunt, Jana Millner; aunt and uncle Jeff and Kim Millner; cousins, Rebecca and Ariana Goffe and their father Dean Goffe (uncle); cousins, Josh and Jared Blankenship; and half-brother Matt Millner; as well as several loving aunts, uncles, and cousins of the Miller family; his fiancee Leslie McLaughlin and her beloved son J.D.; friends Devin Garringer, Nathan Sparks ("Sparks"), Dylan and Nathan ("Napalm") Elofskey, Jason ("Jaybird") Heinz, Shaun Gannon, Cindy Girard; and numerous other friends and relatives. He was a graduate of Greene County Career Center and Beavercreek High School in 2004. He was the recipient of many awards to include Gold Medalist at the Regional and State Skills USA-VICA for Architectural Drafting. He advanced to the National Competition with representatives from 49 other states where he received the Gold Medal as well. He was employed by Reddy Electric of Xenia, OH, as an electrical blue-print draftsman. He was an enormous and charismatic presence in the lives of many, a great son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew, and friend. He touched the lives of all who knew him. Visitation will be 5-8PM Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Funeral services will be 10:30AM Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery in Beavercreek. At the request of the family, please dress casual. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
