(Dub) Elonzo W. Dayton III, age 64, of Dayton, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015.
Dub was an elder of The First Heavy Metal Church of Christ and was a proud member of the United States Marines for 10 years. He enjoyed his time as a head custodian for the Kettering City Schools and officiating softball as a USSSA and ASA umpire. He was loved by many and touched numerous lives with his unique God loving personality.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 21 years, Jill Lopez-Dayton; children, Lonnie (Leanne) W. Dayton IV, Johnny Dayton, Emily Lopez, Christina (Don) Soyinthisane, Estarla (Jorge) Santos, Jill Lopez Jr.; grandchildren, Emma Kylie, Dylan Cole, Charlee Anne, Kristen, Zach, Austin, Mark, Jake, Bella, Ethan, Ariel, Madisen, Natalie; mother, Dorris Siler; siblings, Kathy Welch, June (Rick) Riden, Michael (Becky) Dayton, Lisa Siler, Judy Vititoe; and several nieces, nephews and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elonzo W. Dayton, Jr.; stepmother, Anne Dayton; siblings, Stephen, Sherry, and Jerry.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 5-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio. Service will follow on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 10:30am.
Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park.
