Duane L. Woods Sr.

Woods, Duane L. Sr., age 66, of Dayton, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2007. Duane retired from E.G. & G. Mound and was a long time member of South Park United Methodist Church. He was a member of F.& A.M. Dayton Lodge #147, Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton, York Rite, where he served as Director of the Stage Crew for many years, Antioch Shrine, and O.E.S. Harvest Chapter # 564.

Duane is survived by his wife of 46 years: Laura (Lee) Woods; daughter and son-in-law: Lori (Randall) Frankart of Springboro; son and daughter-in-law: Duane L. Woods Jr. (Joanne) of Norwalk, OH; grandchildren: Gregory & Douglas Frankart, Andrew, Daniel & Jennifer Woods; brother: Vern W. Woods Jr. of Centerville; nieces: Wanda (Kevin) Blackford of Centerville, Shelley Woods of Dayton; great nieces and nephews: Eric & Stacy Blackford, Cody Woods, Robbie Lewis; sister-in-law: Eileen Lee and family of Kettering; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Vern W. & Helen M. (Stomps) Woods Sr.; two sisters: Sharon Owens & Barbara Woods; sister-in-law: Lois Woods; and niece Trina Lewis.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 15 at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering with Reverend Dr. Brooks Heck officiating. Interment will follow the service at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Masonic, Scottish Rite and O.E.S. services beginning at 7:45 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Masonic Learning Center or South Park United Methodist Church, envelopes will be provided.
