Spiller, Duane H., aged 54, of Xenia, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Dayton V.A. Hospital after a sudden and brief illness. Born on February 6, 1959, in Old Hunstanton, Norfolk, England.
He was a 1978 graduate of Park Hills High School in Fairborn, and served in the USAF from Mar 1978 until Dec 1979.
Duane was an avid sports fan, and loved the music of the 1970s. He had a very big heart and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his parents, Charles and Valerie Spiller of Xenia; sons, SSG Nicholas (Laura) Sotlar, US Army stationed in Italy, Daniel (Heather) Spiller of Urbana, IL; and daughter, Emilee Spiller of Jamestown,OH. Duane is also survived by three granddaughters, Nevaeh and Olivia Spiller, Azzurra Sotlar; brothers, Dean (Sonia) Spiller of Xenia, Dale (Renee) Spiller of Jamestown, John (Amy) Spiller of Xenia; sister, Donna Carver of Vicksburg, MS; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins in both England and the United States.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 3, 2013 from 1:00 until 2:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., where a funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm.
