Dr. Donavan Douglas Dawes

Dr. Michael Dawes, age 67, passed away surrounded by his loving family, Monday February 14, 2022 at Wooster Community Hospital. He was born January 19, 1955 in Kingston, Jamaica.

The third child of the late Egbert and Cynthia Dawes, he was preceded in death by his two brothers Derrick Dawes, Patrick Dawes, and sister Diane Dawes. Dr. Dawes is currently survived by his wife of 39 years, Marguarita (nee Henriques), his 3 children- daughter Dr. Danyelle Dawes, son Dr. Sean Dawes ( Dr. Christine Plichta) daughter, Dr. Ashley Dawes, his brothers Eberle Dawes, Paul Dawes and many more extended family members and friends who he loved dearly.

Dr. Dawes is a graduate of his beloved St. George's College in Kingston, Jamaica. Following his graduation, he went on to obtain his BSc in Chemistry and Biochemistry, followed by his medical degree from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. He would later emigrate to the United States to follow his childhood sweetheart, Marguarita, the love of his life and the only reason he said he would leave Jamaica for, completing his residency at University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria in Family Medicine.

Known for his football (soccer) skills, and jovial personality he was always known to have a smile on his face. An avid conversationalist, his greatest passions in life were his family, football, and caring for his patients. With his heart of gold, his legacy and impact will live on for years to come, never to be forgotten.

A private family service will be held.
