Dr. Gregory L. Halley, age 63 of Wooster, passed away unexpectedly on April 1, 2018. He was born on August 25, 1954 in Middletown, OH to his late parents, Elmer H. and Pauline (Ashcraft) Halley.

He is survived by his sister, Pamela (Roy) Nelson; niece, Tina (Trever) Ehrlich; nephews, Jeremy (Crystal) Nelson and Tony Nelson; great-nephews, Gabriel, Joshua, Jason and Justin; great-niece, Bella and numerous cousins, extended family and friends.

Dr. Halley graduated from Loma Linda Medical University and secured an MBA from the University of Toledo. He also served in the U.S. Army while completing his medical training at Walter Reed Hospital. Dr. Halley was extremely proud of his 20 years of service in Ohio as Wayne County Health Commissioner, prior to his retirement. He served as Governor of the Lions Club, worked with Habitat for Humanity, the Red Cross and very much involved with non profit work.

A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Butler County Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4570 Trenton Oxford Rd., Hamilton, OH 45011 with Pastor Roy Lawinsky officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Wooster-Madisonburg Lions Club, or Pilot Dogs for the Blind (625 West Town Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215; www.pilotdogs.org) in Dr. Halley's memory.
