Doyle Kaye Coate, 89, of Kettering, OH, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer. Doyle was born on March 1, 1931 in Miami County. He graduated from Piqua High School in 1950. Doyle served in the Army as a dental lab technician from 1951-1953. He was employed by the Piqua Daily Call for 31 years. In his younger days, Doyle enjoyed travel, hiking, bicycling, and photography.
Doyle is preceded in death by parents, Guy and Farest Coate, three brothers, and four sisters. He is survived by one sister, Rita Comer; several nieces and nephews, and good friend, Holly Smith. Doyle is loved and remembered for his gentle, quiet nature. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
A private graveside service will be held later at the convenience of the family.
