Douglas P. Guntle , 64, of Miamisburg, passed away May 8, 2013.

He was born February 12, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio. Doug graduated from Miamisburg High School in 1969 and worked at Chrysler. He left Chrysler to start his own carpentry and cabinet making business. Doug was a recovered alcoholic since 1987 and devoted his life to AA and helping and counseling others.

Doug is preceded in death by his father, Earl and brother Joe. He is survived by his children, Gerald and Reiko Guntle; children Joseph, Raymond and Lisa of Tucson, Arizona and Lieve (nee Amy Guntle) and David Kamholz; children Eleanora and Colden of Lyons, Colorado. Doug is also survived by his mother, Mary Ann Guntle, 4 brothers and 2 sisters, Raymond and Cathy Guntle, Marianne and Charles Farrell, Linus Guntle, Donna and Rick Blankenship, Fred and Jackie Guntle, Geoff and Angie Guntle, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until time of service. Condolences may be made to the family at www.newcomerdayton.com.
