Douglas Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, DOUGLAS LEE of New Carlisle, passed away Sunday June 7th, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Douglas is survived by his loving wife Lisa Michelle (Brookey) and son Joshua Mooney, still at home. Also left to cherish Douglas's memory is his mother Peggy Montgomery, of Park Layne, brother Donald of Park Layne, brother David (Christine) of New Jersey, In-laws Bob and Sharon Brookey of New Carlisle, nieces Paige, Amanda, Annelies of New Jersey, Jade and Amber (John Flores) of West Virginia, nephew Aaron of New Jersey and great-niece Kyra of West Virginia. Douglas was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Anne Allison and his uncle Jim Mitchell. Douglas served his country in the US Air Force as a ground communications specialist. He was a member of the AMVETS Post 148, Medway and First Baptist Church of New Carlisle. He was an avid golfer who found his passion in Harbor Hills, OH at the golf course near his childhood home. Douglas was employed as a machinist at Flowserve of North Carolina. The family will be receiving friends and family at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd on Thursday June 11, 2009 from 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be Friday June 12, 2009 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in memory of Douglas.
