BRENDEL, Douglas W. (Doug), age 56, passed away on September 29, 2013 in Boulder City, Nevada. The son of Helen and the late Leo Brendel, Doug was born in Dayton, Ohio.
Doug is survived by his daughter, Chelsea (Cory) Duchein of Colorado, brother, Greg (Lyn) Brendel, sisters, Bonnie (John) Nagle and Pat (Rick) Beaman, nieces and nephews Josh, Jason, Jennifer, Glen, Kim, Emily and Alex, and good friend, Doreen Johnson.
Doug traveled many roads in life. He began by attending St. Helen's Elementary School, Beavercreek High School and Wright State University. He lived in communes, served in the U.S. Army, sold autos, worked as a stockbroker, and finished his career as an anchorman and producer for KPVM in Pahrump, Nevada.
Seeking a full life, Doug will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, fun loving nature and devotion to the Reds and the Buckeyes.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 6 from 2-5 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Charles Catholic Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd. on Monday, October 7 at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice, 3150 N.
