Dotty Jo Oswald


Dotty Jo Oswald (nee Gabbard) 75, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday September 5, 2008 at Walnut Creek Nursing Center in Kettering. She was born on June 28 1933 in Middletown and graduated in 1951 from Lemon Monroe High School. Dotty resided in Farmersville for most of her life and worked for the Elder Beerman Corporation for over 27 years, before retiring and devoting her time to be with family. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly of Englewood, and son, Thomas (Cindy) of Plain City, 8 grandchildren: Ray, Brian, Mindy, Jeremy, Jeffrey, Gregory, Rebecca and Abigail; 3 great grandchildren: Ryleigh, Cadence and Ryder, one brother, Louis Gabbard (Donna) of Kettering, and two sisters: Leoma Gabbard, of Ft. Myers, Fla; and Helen Thomas, of Centerville, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews who were all very precious to her. Dotty was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton in 1956 and Leoma in 1985; and sisters Mary Frye (Ed) in 2001 and Nancy Burdge in 2008. Special thanks and gratitude for the staff, volunteers and friends at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Agape Community Church, Walnut Creek Nursing Center, and Hospice for their love, support and ministry. The family will receive friends and family from 10 A.M – Noon on Saturday September 13 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Farmersville. A memorial service will immediately follow with Pastor Larry Lindstrom presiding. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 282 South Broadway Street.
