Dorothy Lucille Sims Scherer

Dorothy Lucille Sims Scherer, age 101, of Beavercreek, passed away on January 25, 2023. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, on November 5, 1921, the daughter of the late George and Anna Sims.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Walter E. Scherer; and her son, Wally Scherer.

Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Linda (Michael) Sullivan and David (Linda) Scherer; grandchildren, Stacey (Chris) Upton, Kelley Robinson, Melissa (Joe) Padgett, David (Dawn) Scherer, Melinda (Dale) Timmester and Michelle Sullivan; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; as well as many other loving family and friends.

In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing and going to the races and to still to this day, she enjoyed playing cards, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Dorothy was always lovingly referred to by everyone as "Grandma". She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held from 12:00pm-1:00pm, on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where Funeral Services will begin at 1:00pm. Burial will be held at a later date at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
