Dorothy Schimer

Dorothy "Dorothea" Frances Schimer, age 96 of Kettering, passed away on February 15, 2012. She was born on April 3, 1915 in Winona, MN to the late Otto and Frances Schulz. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Schimer; son, Terry Schimer; granddaughter, Kim Bowling; and great granddaughter, Amanda Bowling.

Dorothy is survived by her four children, George, John "Jack" Schimer, Patricia Foster, Carlyn (Forest) Roberts; daughter-in-law, Barbara Schimer; 15 grandchildren; many loving great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; numerous other family members and good friends.
Dorothy was an active senior at the Lohrey Center in Belmont, where she enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with close friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday February 20, 2012 from 10:00-11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial to take place at Valley View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to, The Hospice of Dayton.
