Dorothy (Dottie) Rowe, age 84, of New Carlisle, passed away Monday, July 12, 2021. She was born July 25, 1936 in Martin County, Kentucky to the late Bunard and Ida Hill.
Dottie will be remembered for her gift of cooking and gardening. Her passion for planning and cooking for a house with eight children gave her the ability to keep up with preparing food at the Mel-o-dee Restaurant. Some of the family's best memories were sharing a big meal of her fried chicken, along with fresh vegetables from her garden. You never left her house hungry, there was always enough to send extras home. She was the embodiment of motherhood; cooking, cleaning, and caring for her family.
Left to cherish Dottie's memory are her children, Marie (Mark) Snyder, Julius (Kindall) King, Jay (Debra) King, Nenia Arnett, Loretta Haney; step-daughter Helen Tackett; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Dottie is preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Walter Ray Rowe Jr; stepchildren, Phyllis Radabaugh, Larry King, and Gary King; grandchildren, James Tackett, Davey Tackett, Elizabeth Rose Snyder, Jacob Lee Haney; great-grandchild Austin Ray Lewis.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 19, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH 45432). A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Byron Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at Vancrest of New Carlisle for the love and care they provided to Dottie during her time there.
