Dorothy A. (Cooney) Murray, age 91, departed this life on November 8, at home with her family by her side. She was born in Lima, Ohio and the daughter the Edgar M. and Teresa M. Cooney.
A graduate of the College of Mount St. Joseph, Dorothy taught home economics and later held a position at Fifth Third Bank in Fairborn where she happily served the public. Dorothy's generous spirit was always evident in her winning smile and kind approach to all. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association and the Daughters of Isabella. Dorothy had a life-long affinity for music and sang in the Mary Help of Christians church choir and in a community choir that performed the Messiah at Christmas time. She loved walks in nature, the performing arts and was quite a comedian who enjoyed doing impressions and cracking one-line jokes. She also studied art in college and was multi-talented, creating art works in a variety of formats: paintings, sketches and fabric weaves.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Anthony Murray, her son John, and her daughter Ann. She is survived by her children, Bernard Murray, Jr.; Matthew Murray, John's widow, Terry; Teresa Walton (Phillip); Margaret Burns; Edgar Murray (Linda); and Mary Murray (Jim), her sister, Susan Stechschulte (C.
