Dorothy L. Fletcher
Age 83, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Kettering Medical Center. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Glen Fletcher; and by her sister, Thelma Pence. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Fletcher and by her brother-in-law, Forest Pence. Dorothy spent this last half-year not dwelling on the likelihood of her illness returning but instead she remained active, returning to work part-time at FitWorks, enjoying her co-workers and members whom remembered her with their cards and pictures while she was hospitalized. When not working she enjoyed fishing with family friend, Mark, and taking many joyful trips in the country with her son as well as them enjoying gardening together. These past holidays were always made special by her nephews and nieces because of their love and hospitality. Her family and life-long friends always seemed to know just when to call or send a loving letter which always brightened her happy life even more. A special thanks to Kaye and Leonard whom accompanied her to church on Sundays and on picnics. Special thanks to her pastor, Gerald Vaught, and special church family at Dayton Central Nazarene Church. You have been a comfort to her and her son. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Dayton Central Nazarene Church, 610 Brown St. (off Buckeye St.). In lieu of flowers please make donations to The Southern Ohio Leukemia Chapter, 2300 Wall St., Suite H., Cincinnati, Ohio 45212, which had helped her with medication costs.
