She served the Lord over 70 years through singing in church services and community programs from childhood through her adult years. Dorothy taught Bible to all ages from children's classes to adult Bible studies. She spent most of her reading and study time in the Bible, where she was an avid reader and scholar.
Dorothy was the mother of 6 children, Marlin King, Marilyn Mohler, Maureen Kelley, Melanie Reno, Matthew King, and Michael King. Grandmother to 21 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren for whom most of her time was spent nurturing and caring for them, teaching them the Word of God, and showing all her family the way to salvation.
She shared with her children the gift of music which resulted in many generations to follow using their gifts to worship the Lord, she practiced overwhelming hospitality to all who came to her home, and she fervently prayed without ceasing for all her many loved ones.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 76 years, Shelby King, who has loved and honored her for 80 of the 93 years of her life. Dorothy King passed from this life to the next on Friday March 10, 2017, "her times being in the hands of the Lord".
