Dorothy Louise Kerns, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt, went to be with the Lord on March 16, 2013 at the age of 83 years young. She was born on April 16, 1929 in Point Pleasant, W.V. and has lived in Dayton, OH for the past 53 yrs.
She is preceded in death by her father, Arvel Burgess; mother, Margaret Whittington Meredith; and brother, Dorance L. Burgess Sr. She was a devoted mother and grandmother first, however, she did work at Delco Products for 13 years as a Parts Assembler and Inspector.
She loved Texas, country and western music, and will always be George Strait's biggest fan. She knew the words to just about every one of his songs. She also loved major league baseball and was a devoted fan to the Cincinnati Reds baseball team to the end.
She is survived by daughter, Linda Sharon Gibson of Dayton, OH; sons, Kenneth Michael Fuller (Kathryn) of Canyon Lake, TX; James Gregory Fuller (Kelly) of San Antonio, TX; and Richard Allen Fuller (Linda) of LaVernia, TX; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
She had lived at Trinity Assisted Living Center in Beavercreek, OH for the past year and developed many relationships there. During the past 5 to 6 weeks, she fought a very long hard battle following surgery and is now at peace. She is loved and will be missed greatly.
A memorial service will be held at Woodland Cemetery Chapel, 118 Woodland Avenue, Dayton, OH 45409-2892 on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. Interment will occur at the Woodland Cemetery afterwards. Officiating the service will be Pastor Ward Tilton of Trinity Community of Beavercreek United Church Homes. A gathering for the friends and family will take place afterwards at the Delco Park Meeting Place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name of Dorothy Louise Kerns to St. Vincent de Paul, Dayton, OH District.
