Dorothy J. Karl

Karl, Dorothy J., age 80, of Huber Heights, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born on September 25, 1928 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late John & Mabel (Moefield) Smith. Dorothy was a graduate of Fairview High School in 1946. She was a member of the International Sunshine Club and the Willing Worker's Club of Dayton. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, William J. Karl; daughter, Janet (Robert) Everette; grandson, David (Diana) Peeples; great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Peeples; sister, Delores (Jack) Drake; brother, Albert Smith, sister & brother-in-law, JoAnn (Gabe) Bitcas; brother-in-law, Glenn Strong; and her niece, Maxine and Dr. Robert Fisher of Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio, with Rev. Craig Showalter officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5-8 PM.
