Dorothy G. Gibbs

Dorothy G. Gibbs, 79, of Kettering, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 5, 2017. She was born on February 25, 1938, to the late Raymond and Lillie (Evans) Selby in Miamisburg, OH and resided there most of her life as a full-time wife and mother.

She was married to her devoted husband, Denver Gibbs for 61 ½ years and together they raised 4 children. She is survived by her loving husband, Denver; children, Lloyd Gibbs, Vanessa (Dave) Blaylock, Michael (Candace) Gibbs, and Tim (Lisa) Gibbs; grandchildren, Heather (Danny) Ward, Ashley Gibbs, Justin Blaylock, Kristan (Cody) Doench, Alexis Blaylock, Sarah (Tommy) Highland, Elizabeth Gibbs, Emily Gibbs, Matthew Gibbs, and Erica Lakins; great granddaughters, Ally Mae Doench and Carolina Grace Ward; brother, Fred Selby, along with numerous other family members and friends.

She attended the Miamisburg Assembly of God for many years and loved her church and church family. She always put the needs of others before her own and she was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her.

A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 pm on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Newcomer (South Chapel), 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 pm with Pastor John Swift officiating. Burial will take place at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville, OH.

Pallbearers include Lloyd Gibbs, Mike Gibbs, Tim Gibbs, Dave Blaylock, Justin Blaylock, and Matthew Gibbs.

The family would like to thank each and every one at Hospice of Dayton for the loving care that they provided during her time of illness. They have been a blessing not only to her, but also to all of us.
