Dorothy Dixon Brem

Our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Dorothy Dixon Brem, went to Heaven on September 11, 2016. She was born to Ottie and Dellie Dixon on November 12, 1921.

"Dottie," as she was called by everyone who knew her, was married to Michael E. Brem on June 18, 1948. Dottie was one of four children; brothers Herbert and Lawrence and sister Nauveta. Dottie was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Michael and both brothers.

Dottie leaves two children, Chris Brem and his wife Margie, Cindy Hamilton and her husband Dave. Four grandchildren, Michael (Jana)Brem, Stacy (Scott) Peeler, Molly (Branden) Hare and Lindsey Hamilton. Dottie was blessed with six great grandchildren, Cody, Amanda and Braden Brem, Sophie and Sam Peeler and Emma Hare. Dottie was always involved in all facets of her families activities.

Dottie was blessed with many talents and shared those with adults and children. For many years she taught arts and crafts in Kettering and was a life long member of the Green Twig Garden Club. Dottie was a painter, and specialized in many beautiful Santa Claus statues. Our mother will be missed and remembered by her many nieces, nephews and life long friends.

The viewing for Dorothy will be on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home- South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Kettering, Ohio 45439. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 10 am at Zion Memorial United Church of Christ, 4000 South Dixie Dr. Moraine, Ohio. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Miami Valley.
