Dorothy E. (Harshman) Cromer, age 88 of Kettering, passed away after a brief illness Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Kettering Medical Center.
She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Kettering where she sang in the choir and was a member of the United Methodist Women for many years.
Dorothy, better known as Dottie, worked at the South Community YMCA for over 50 years. She retired in 2009 at the age of 81. She particularly enjoyed working with the Adventure Guides and Princess programs.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Cromer, her brother, Eugene Harshman of Kettering and sister Marilyn Coffing of Los Angeles, CA. She is survived by her daughters, Marcia (Roger) Hendrickson of NJ and Peggy Cromer of Kettering; grandson, David Hendrickson of Nashville, TN; her sisters Shirley (George) Humerick of Kettering, Sandy (Bill) Wheat of Missouri, and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors at noon on Friday, May 19, 2017 in the parlor at Christ UMC, 3440 Shroyer Rd., Kettering. A Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 PM in the sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dottie's memory to the Kettering Christ UMC Memorial Fund.
