Dorothy Jean Blanton

January 6, 1935 — September 15, 2017

God called home a very special angel in Dorothy, who is now celebrating with family and friends in her eternal home. She was born January 6, 1935 in Carter County, KY, the daughter of Virgil and Ona (Jarvis) Reeves. She married James William "Bill" Blanton on January 18th, 1957 in Richmond, Indiana.

Dorothy was a devoted member of Restoration Park Church in Medway, OH where she was a dedicated and loving "grandma" in the nursery every Sunday. She was a beloved caregiver for many family friends and their children. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend… and she will be dearly missed.

Dorothy is survived by her loving daughter, Carla (Dave) Marquette; four grandchildren, Emily Blanton and Justin, Jillian and Ethan Williams; two sisters, Juanita (Roy) Crum and Laura Holt; and many nieces and nephews, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, James William "Jay" Blanton II; and four brothers, Billy, Donald, James and Kenny Reeves.

A Celebration of her life will be conducted at Restoration Park Church on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 2:00pm. The family will greet friends from 1-2pm at the church. A private burial of the ashes will be scheduled in the New Carlisle Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, Memorial Contributions can be made to Restoration Park Church (Nursery/Youth Ministry) in Dorothy's name.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
2 Timothy 4:7
