PEMBERTON, Dorman Odell. age 77 of Dayton, passed away Friday, August 19, 2005 at Hospice of Dayton due to complication of congestive heart failure. He was preceded in death by his brother, Carmen Dorvell "Pete" Pemberton. He is survived by Son, Harold Pemberton of Newport Beach, California; Daughters, Patsy Springer of Benbrook, Texas, Annette Beech of Medway, Ohio; Sisters, Fonza "Dean" Vickery of New Castle, Indiana, Ruth Olene Edgreen of Lapel, Indiana; Joyce Moles of Byrdstown, Tennessee; Nephews, Rondal Vickery, Michael Pemberton, Thomas Edgreen, Robert Edgreen; Niece, Debra Edgreen; Grandson, Mathew Beech. Dorman Odell Pemberton was born on August 13, 1928 in Hunetersville, Kentucky the first of five children to Church Odis Pemberton and Ada Pearl (Neal) Pemberton. He was raised in Pickett County, Tennessee, near Byrdstown and Forbus. Dorman entered the Army Air corps (United State Air Force) in 1946 at the age of 18. During his duty he traveled extensively and served overseas in Japan, Korea, Libya, France and Germany. He retired from the USAF as a Master-Technical Sergeant in 1966 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Fairborn, Ohio, and remained a resident of the greater Dayton area. Dorman was employed at the Chrysler Corporation, Duriron Company, and Black Clawson Company. He was a longtime affiliate of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legions. Dorman enjoyed volunteer work in airplane restoration at the Wright-Patterson AFB Museum and was highly regarded as an excellent gardner and bee keeper. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at Newcomer Funeral Home 4104 Needmore Road, with Pastor Peter Courlas Jr. officiating.
