Ullmer, Doris I., age 85, of Canterbury Court in West Carrollton, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2008 at Hospice of Dayton. Doris attended Cornerstone Chapel in West Carrollton, she was a United States Army Veteran proudly serving during WWII with the 57th WAC Hospital Company, and was a member of American Legion Post # 598 in Kettering. She loved golfing, playing pool where she had many tournament victories, and playing cards. She was also an avid reader.
Doris is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Cynthia (Dennis) Kline of West Carrollton; son: Bruce Ullmer of Sunrise, FL; grandchildren: Stefanie da Costa, Erik Ullmer; great granddaughter: Ava da Costa; brother: Joseph Van Hook of Gratis; and numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Howard Ullmer; parents: Joseph & Cynthia (Brown) Van Hook; sisters: Isabelle, Lena, Anna, Lula; and brothers: Mason & John.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery in Beavercreek. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
