Doris Lathrop

Doris Lathrop, age 93, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2018 in her room at the Carlyle House. She was born in Dayton, OH on April 14, 1925, daughter of Harry & Cora Shepard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Lathrop Jr. Doris is survived by her sons, Mark and Bob III (Joyce) and grandchildren, Katie (Matt) White, Matthew (Ashley) Lathrop, Jessica (Ash) Hopkins, and Sarah; and 4 great-grandchildren- one more on the way; and lifelong friend, Annice Clark, of Englewood, OH.
Doris was a graduate of Roosevelt High School class of 1942. Three years later she and several other women from her class formed a social group they affectionately called the Kit Kat Klub that lasted over 60 years. Doris's career was in banking, Tim Andrews Insurance, and the City of Kettering engineering dept. She enjoyed bridge, golf and traveled extensively all over the world with family and friends. Doris belonged to David's United Church of Christ.
Services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ding Darling Wildlife Society in Sanibel Island, FL or David's United Church of Christ, Kettering, OH.
