CARTER, Doris J. age 85 passed away July 25, 2012. She was born April 23, 1927 in Portsmouth, OH to the late, James McClellan Hiles and Ethel (Noel) Hiles.
She is preceded in death by 6 brothers, Perry, Frank, Raymond, Marion, Roger, and Charles; and 2 sisters, Mary Lenegar and Alberta Emrich.
She is survived by children, Danny (Jennifer) Tabor and Jeanie (Frank) Gillette; brother, James Hiles; sister, Betty Gragg; grandchildren, Ryan (Anita) Gillette, Cindy (Mark) Jordan, Doug (Tammy) Gillette, Danny (Amy) Tabor, Kristina (Jerry) Davidson; great-grandchildren, Brooke Jordan, Brice Jordan, Wade Gillette, Will Gillette, Reese Gillette, Kyle Tabor, Kaleb Tabor, Jack Tabor, Alyssa Davidson, and Ian Davidson; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Helen Zaboik and Crossroads Hospice.
Doris retired from The Ohio State University after many years of service.
A service will be held at the convenience of the family.
