Dora Ogden

April 10, 1932 — September 30, 2024

Sidney

Dora Ogden, a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, passed on September 30, 2024, in Sidney, Ohio at the age of 92. She was born on April 10, 1932, in Pikeville, Kentucky, Dora lived her life with a spirit of love and devotion to her family that was matched only by her warmth and kindness to everyone she met.

Dora achieved a great personal milestone when she returned to school and earned her GED, a testament to her belief in the value of education and self-improvement. Her tenacity and dedication were reflected in every aspect of her life, particularly in her proudest roles as a loving wife to her husband Ricky Ogden and as a devoted mother to her children: Sharon (Bob) Huffman, Rhonda Fisher, Bradley (Terri) Ford, and Pam Watts.

As a grandmother, Dora was cherished by Loretta, Devonda, Crystal, Jeremy, Michelle, Bobbi, Veronica, Dawn, Tony, Brian, Jennifer, Shane, and Eric, who all knew her to be a constant source of support, love, and laughter. She took immense joy in her numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, further enriching the tapestry of her family with every new addition.

Dora's passions extended beyond her family. She found joy in the great outdoors, relishing her time fishing and surrounded by nature. A lover of animals, over the years she had ducks, chickens, pigs, dogs, and cats, which brought her countless hours of happiness.

Her family ties were strong; she was the devoted sister of Mary Ruth (Jim) Marshall and sister-in-law to Mary "Tade" Kiser. Dora also had a special affection for her nephew Rod, who held a unique place in her heart.

While Dora's life was marked by love, joy, and laughter, it also bore the weight of loss. She was preceded in death by her parents, Slimp and Bertha Kiser, her sons L. Keith Ford, Steven Ford, and Gerald Ford, as well as her brothers Claude Kiser and Robert (Mary E.) Kiser. The loss of her grandson Leland Fisher, along with her sons-in-law Don Fisher and Randy Watts, also left a profound impact on her family. She mourned the passing of her great-grandson Corey Best and her daughter-in-law Debra Ford. Additionally, her father and mother-in-law, Vernon and Phyllis Ogden, and Billie Ford, the father of her children, are among those who leave behind cherished memories of her.

Dora Ogden will be profoundly missed by her family and the community that loved her so dearly. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 8, from 5-8 pm and Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 9:30-10:30 am at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. The service will be held immediately following the visitation on Wednesday at 10:30am.
