Donnie Mack Brown Jr., age 80, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away March 13, 2022.
He was born December 29, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Esther Harris "Bigmama" and Donnie M. Brown, Sr. "Bigdaddy". Donnie was a graduate of Dunbar High School, Class of 1961. He retired from GM/Delco Products after 31 years of service and went on to work at The Regional Transit Authority (RTA) Project Mobility. He retired from there as well, after 15 years of service.
D.B. was a Truant Officer for the Jefferson Twp. School System for many years. He also served as a Police Officer for the Jefferson Twp. Police Dept. He was a retired member of the Toros Motorcycle Club where he went by "Hoochie Coochie Man" or "Hooch" for short. D.B. enjoyed martial arts, he loved to travel on his bike or in his RV, was an avid reader of murder mysteries, and was a movie buff.
D.B. leaves to mourn his children Kerry L. (Tina) Brown Sr., Dionne L. Jilani, Sean E. Allen Sr., Tamiko D. (Craig) Brown-Howell, Talibah D. "Mr. Bill" Brown; his grandchildren Antoine Gwynne, Kerry Brown Jr., Jerrika Brown, Ysmeen Bennett, Kala Pritchett, Robert Amos, LaSean Lewis, Amber Allen, Kasha Grubbs, Jazzy Allen, Aubri Farrar, Shalamar Allen, DeVahn Farrar, Ayrrion Allen, Sean Allen Jr., Ashlendd Allen, Aseani Allen, Malia Bailey, Dwane Allen, Thomi Brown, Maddox Ruffin and Torie Ruffin. However, is preceded in death by one of his grand-children, Cairo Howell.
He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren; his brother Richard Brown, his beloved aunt, Johnnie Mae Marsh, his Toros MC, GM, and RTA family.
D.B. was known for being an excellent story and joke teller; for having all the latest movies, and for throwing the best cookouts/campouts. He was known by his RTA family as "Mr. Eat Em Up" because he knew the best places to eat for lunch! Some of D.B.'s catch phrases were, "Well, I'll be John Brown", "Know What I Mean Jellybean?", and "Everybody Wants to Be a Comic!"
He was the best whistler and had a voice similar to Al Green when he sang. In fact, he was in an R&B group in his youth. D.B. was a car fanatic and loved having the latest tech gadgets. He loved to order things he saw via infomercials on late night TV. However, he was best known for his infamous answering machine message, which started with "…This is you know who…"!
D.B. touched so many with his humor and down-to-earth personality. Most of all, he will be remembered for the tremendous pride he had for his children and family. He was adored by many and will be missed by all.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022, from 10:00am until 12:00pm at Living Word Church, 926 E. National Road, Vandalia, Ohio 45377.
