Donna Ellen (Ridgway) Shiveley-Stupp, 73, of Kettering, passed away from multiple health issues on April 28, 2017 in Kettering, Ohio. Visitation will be health at Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek, Ohio on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at Newcomer on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 10:00 am with Chaplin Steve Wetterhan officiating. A private burial will immediately follow the service. Shortly after the burial, the family would like to invite all friends of Donna to a gathering to celebrate Donna's life, which will be held at Faith Community United Methodist Church in Xenia, Ohio.
Donna was born in Hillsboro, Ohio to Donald and Edris Ridway on August 28, 1943. She attended Xenia High School where she graduated in 1961. On June 30, 1962 Donna married F. Gene Shiveley, and had three children Steven, Jodee, and D. Mitchell. After the death of Gene in 1988, she married James Stupp on May 23, 2003. Donna worked at Medical Service Associates, Dr. Gerald Troy's office in Xenia, and as a librarian at Spring Hill Elementary school in Xenia. She retired in 2006 as an Insurance agent for Robert Wood agency in Fairborn. Shortly before her retirement, Donna was a kidney transplant recipient which gave her extra years of her life and made it possible for her to see her first great grandchild come into this world.
Donna was a member of her church choir for many years at Faith Community in Xenia. She also was a proud member of the GEM City Sweet Adeline Chorus for over 30 years and the Voice of America. She traveled around the world with GEM City, winning multiple International Championship Gold Medals along with countless other awards. She was well known for her amazing voice and ability to sing any genre in performances of GEM City Musical productions. She was the driving inspiration for her children as they all followed her footprints into the world of instrumental, voice performance and the love of Barbershop Harmony.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Edris Ridway along with her first husband, F. Gene Shiveley.
Donna is survived by her husband James Stupp; brother Robert (Ruthie) Ridgway; sister Mary (David) Prather: son Steven (Dawn) Shiveley; daughter Jodee Zickafoose; son D. Mitchell Shiveley; 2 step sons Brice Stupp and Kenny Stupp; twelve grandchildren including Justin (Sara) Shiveley, Brianne (Derek) Houle, Dallas Drury, Katelynn Shiveley, Tyler Zickafoose, Hunter Zickafoose, Makena Shiveley, Paige Zickafoose, and one great grandchild Aiden Shiveley.
