Donna Fay (Richardson) Powell was born September 5, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late William E. Richardson and Lillian (Carter) Richardson. Donna transitioned from this life on Thursday, January 11, 2024. She graduated from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School class of 1961 and was baptized in Jesus' Name and filled with the Holy Ghost at Bethesda Temple Apostolic Church under the pastorate of Bishop Ralph Bass. She was the granddaughter of Charter Members at the Engine House; First Pentecostal Church of Dayton, Ohio.
After being baptized in Jesus' name and filled with the Holy Spirit, Donna became very committed to the Lord, and served in her church in many capacities, including the Choraliers Choir, Nurses Guild, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Tarrying Committee, and the Amen Corner with Aunt Fannie and Mother Bass.
Donna enjoyed many activities and hobbies, such as ceramics, gardening, sewing, and crocheting. Donna's favorite holiday was Christmas as she spent hours watching her mother cook. As the only girl with three brothers, she had the opportunity to learn many recipes by spending much of her time with her Mom, learning and doing what mothers and daughters do. At Christmas, she would help her mother cook and learned to make her own special treats, which she would give as gifts to family and friends. Donna was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, William E Richardson, Jr., Vance Richardson, and Duane B. Richardson. She leaves to mourn her husband, Arthur Powell; daughters, Lisa Talbott Wood and Sharon Talbott Powell and her son, Roy Talbott, Jr.; extended family, Elizabeth (Warner) Taylor, Vickie (James) Abney, Jr., Audrey Green, Theresa (Jerry) Reed; sixteen grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
