Donald R. Welz, Jr.

Donald R. Welz, Jr. "Don", age 72 of Kettering, passed away on September 6, 2023. He was born October 26, 1950 in Dayton to the late Donald Sr. and Joanne (Azbil) Welz. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his son, Greg Sargent; and his two brothers, Lon Welz and Jeff Welz.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Theresa Welz; children, Mary (Doug) Ramm, Donnie (Becky) Welz, Missy Todd, Darlene (Robert) Hunt, Jeannette Southwood and Michael (Kim) Sargent; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchilden; sisters, Diane Johnson and Connie Bebout; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Don was an avid sports fan and was always rooting for the Bengals, Buckeyes and Reds. He worked and retired after 50 years of service with Palmer Donavon. Don was an active member of American Legion Post 598 where he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Family will receive guests from 4-6 pm on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439) where a funeral service will begin at 6 pm.
