Donald E. Upshaw, Sr.

Donald E. "Pumpkin" Upshaw Sr., age 77 of Springfield. Sunrise: December 11, 1939-Sunset: November 1, 2017. Don was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Upshaw; grandparents, Papa and Mama Upshaw and numerous aunts and uncles.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 57 years, Althea Upshaw; children, Donald (Fern) Upshaw Jr., Jason (Rhonda) Upshaw and Petra Upshaw; his favorite grandsons, Chase and Charles Upshaw; brother, Cornelious "Corney" Upshaw and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Don proudly enlisted during the Vietnam Era in the U.S. Air Force having served many tours.
Family will receive friends from 9-10 AM on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. where a funeral service will begin at 10 AM. Interment with military honors will immediately follow the service at Dayton National Cemetery at 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice, in Donald's memory.
