Donald "Donnie" Sweet, age 66, of Riverside, OH died unexpectedly at home on Friday, Sept. 9, 2016. He was born November 19, 1949 in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, Canada to Douglas and Donalda (McLean) Sweet. He immigrated with his family to the US in 1952 and attended Mad River Twp. Schools. He served two years in the Navy as a Ship's Cook Apprentice aboard the USS John King and USS Josephus Daniels and, later, worked various jobs in the Dayton area. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Pfc. David A. Sweet. Donnie is survived by four children: Shawn Sweet of TX, Donald Sweet, Jr. of MI, Candice Tudor of Beavercreek and Aaron Davis of Riverside. Also surviving are two sisters, Diane (Bill) Orick and Debra (Roger) Murphy, both of TN; brother, Dan (Angie) Sweet of IN; and uncle, James Sweet of Halifax, NS. Donnie has several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-nieces and great-nephews stateside and numerous cousins in Canada. He was an extremely likeable individual, making numerous friends along the way. His wishes were for cremation and no burial will take place.
