Donald William Poehnert, 44, of Miami Township, passed into the hands of our Lord on February 19, 2018. Donny was born to David Poehnert and Linda Cramer Poehnert on May 31, 1973, in Manchester, Connecticut.
Donny was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Linda Cramer; grandparents, William Cramer I and Catherine Macri Cramer; and uncle, William Cramer II.
Donny will be greatly missed by his grandparents, Donald and Patricia Poehnert, and Eleanor Burtsell; parents David and Bonnie Poehnert; siblings, Diana Olliges, Sara Poehnert, Stacy Laufnick, and David Laufnick; nephews, Davon Curry and Freddie Olliges; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Next to his family, Donny loved his cats – Stormy, Smokey, and Stomper, and the Boston Red Sox baseball team. Donny was a diehard Red Sox fan, demonstrated by the large tattoo on his right arm added after the Sox won the 2004 World Series. After moving to Ohio, Donny joined Sara as loyal fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Donny's career was varied, but in the last few years he excelled in internet support. Donny was a great son, brother, uncle and will be missed beyond words.
The family will honor Donny by wearing Red Sox shirts at his service on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 11am, at Newcomer South Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd. The visitation will be from 10am-11am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donny's memory to SISCA.
