Donald D. Oldham

Donald David Oldham, age 81 of Troy, Ohio, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born August 28, 1940 in Troy to the late Lucille Smith.
Don and Kathy were married August 7, 1967. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Smith. Donald will be missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Katherine; daughter, Christina McCulloch; brother, Dennis (Vickie) Oldham; two sisters, Laura Penny and Linda (Dan) Beasley; three grandchildren, Josh, Joey and Jessie; four great grandchildren, Adaline, Xayden, Noah and Little Anna Leese; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Don served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked 24 years at A.O. Smith and at several other manufacturing businesses. He retired in 2002 from G.S. Electric in Hudson, Wisconsin. He was a member of the Troy Presbyterian Church. He loved to fish all year long and he loved to go deer hunting with his buddies in West Virginia.
Don was an excellent husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather; as well as a provider for his family. He traveled and moved all over the U.S. with his family which provided many memorable experiences and lasting friendships. He left his mark wherever he went. Don was very particular about his yard and gophers (mophers, as he called them) were his true nemesis. Don never met a stranger and will be truly missed by all who loved and knew him.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. 3rd St., Dayton. Arrangements entrusted to Newcomer North Chapel, Dayton.
