Donald Richard Mellotte
February 24, 1944 — January 19, 2022
Donald Richard Mellotte, age 77 of Xenia, OH went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at home surrounded by his wife and family. He was born February 24, 1944 in Fayetteville, Ohio to Donald and Iva (Haines) Mellotte. He married Darlene Coates on September 5, 1998 in Xenia, OH.
Donnie retired from the Xenia WalMart in 2011. He was an active member of New Jasper United Methodist Church where he was the church caretaker and enjoyed spending time with his church family. Donnie's interests included NASCAR, the Bengals, Hot Wheels, his cats and most of all, his family. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 23 years Darlene; daughter, Julie (Larry) Schwarberg; step-daughter, Debbie (David) Berk; step-sons, Shane (Ora) Spencer, Brad (Dusty) Spencer, Keith Spencer and Kirt (Amy) Spencer; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Mary Price, Janet Lockwood, Edith (Timothy) Wiedenheft and Benita (Keith) Hahn; brothers, Ronald Mellotte, Leroy Mellotte and Byron (Penny) Mellotte; and numerous other loving family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tracey Lynn Mellotte; son, David Richard Mellotte; niece, Tammy Wright; and a nephew, Terry "Joey" Mellotte.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Donnie's name can be made to the New Jasper United Methodist Church, Hospice of Dayton (Ohio's Hospice) or the American Lung Cancer Society.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at New Jasper UMC, 3060 Jasper Road, Xenia, OH 45385. Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 5:00 pm at the church. Donnie's wishes were to be cremated, no burial will take place.
