Donald, E. McClain, age 81 of Kettering, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2018. He was born in Dayton to the late Christine and Leo McClain. Don retired from Select Tool and Die after many years of loyal service. In his free time, Donald enjoyed bowling, fishing, and working on model cars. He was a gifted bowler and was active in many bowling leagues. One of his proudest accomplishments was when he bowled a perfect game.
Don always put the needs of others first and could always be counted on to help a friend or family member in need. He was a kind, caring, and generous father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Maryann McClain and brother, Jerry McClain.
Don leaves to cherish his memory, loving son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Sarah McClain; sisters, Connie (William) Stewart and Phyllis Lovely; granddaughter, Caitlyn Cline; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Donald's Life will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 10am at Newcomer- Beavercreek Chapel. Visitation to be held for one hour prior (9am-10am). Burial to follow at Valley View Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donald's memory to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton.
