LUMBARD, Donald W., of Centerville, passed away February 13, 2004. Born in Toronto, Ontario Canada October 27, 1929. Don is survived by loving and devoted wife Helen (Wainwright), 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Leslie and Austin Down of Toronto, Karen and Jack Howard, Tracey and Lawrence Wellmeier of Dayton. Five granddaughters, Kyrsten Laux, Kathryn Laux, Melanie Down, Lisa Sprouse and Lauren Robfogel and innumerable close and dear family and friends. His work at NCR as an instructor enabled him to travel the world for a number of years. He retired from NCR in 1992. His real career though, was as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. For many decades he tirelessly labored in several ways, in the Bible education work, in support of Kingdom Hall construction work, helping to educate numerous ones in non-blood medical management through his work with the Hospital Liaison Committee and many other self-sacraficing acts. His unselfish pursuit in these activities has helped, and touched an untold number of hearts. Don's love of Jehovah God and neighbor was his true motivation. He loved to entertain as a piano player. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, love and laughter which continues to affect many others. Services are to be held at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1530 N. James H. McGee Blvd. Dayton, Ohio on Wednesday, February 18, 2004. Friends and family may visit from 10:00am until 1:00pm with memorial service to begin at 1:00pm, Mike Friedman officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jehovah's Witnesses (World-Wide Work and/or Kingdom Hall Building Fund) donations can be made at any Kingdom Hall.
