Donald L. Wharton, age 79, of Fairborn, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016. He was born January 3, 1937 in Columbus, Ohio.
Donald served our county and protected our freedom in the U.S. Army. He was a proud veteran and a devout Christ follower. Donald loved horseback-riding, John Wayne westerns, football, woodworking, gardening, and his family. He will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Lillian Wharton and brother, Paul Wharton Jr.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; sons, Donald P. (Nina) Wharton and Stephen L. Wharton; daughter, Cherie J. (Jeremy Wal) See; grandchildren, Tabatha Muntzinger, Rachel (Craig) Farrell, Ryan (Jennifer) Wharton, Theresa Wharton, Michael See, Paul Wharton, Christopher Wharton, Matthew See and Carlie See; great-grandchildren, Kiedis Muntzinger, Tova Muntzinger, Victoria Farrell, Caleb Farrell and Lilliana Farrell; brothers-in-law, John (Lynn) Baldini, James (Patty) Baldini, David (Cynda) Baldini and Richard (Vickie) Baldini. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, January, 15, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at Green Lawn Cemetery, 1000 Greenlawn Ave, Columbus, OH 43223.
