Donald R. Jones

Donald R. Jones (age 85), of Riverside, passed away July 26, 2017.
He was married to his wife Virginia L. (Barner) Jones for 55 years, who preceded him in 2011. He is the son of the late George and Magdalene (Spurlock) Jones of West Portsmouth, OH.
Donald is survived by his sons Robert W. (Wanda) Jones and Michael E. Jones; 5 grandchildren, Kelly (John) Crow, Michelle (Brian) Sullivan, Donnie (Rachel) Jones, Veronica Jones and Joshua Jones; 4 great grandchildren, Maranda, Morgan, Logan and Micaela as well as many other loved ones and friends.
Dad counted it an honor and privilege to serve his country and never forgot our freedom didn't come free…he was a Marine in the Korean War and will be buried with full military honors.
After leaving the service, Donald worked for Delco Products and Montgomery County Sanitary Engineering where he retired from management after 30 years.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, belonging to the Greene County Wildlife Association.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 12:00 pm at the Crestview Church of God, 8350 S. Butter St., Germantown, Ohio 45342. Pastor James Simpkins will officiate the service.
Burial will follow at Heritage Hills Memory Gardens.
The family will greet friends from 10 am-12:00 pm on Tuesday at the church.
