Whittington, Donald E., age 81 of Dayton, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2015. HE was born in Dayton to the late Alfred and Ethel Whittington. He worked for many years at General Motors as a Machinist. He enjoyed fishing and classic cars and was a very patriotic man. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Whittington; granddaughter, Debbie Whittington-Ferguson; sister Margie Whittington; and brother, Dave Whittington. Donald leaves behind to cherish his memory, Son, Rex Whittington; daughters, Sherry Sickles, Donna McClure, and Julie Dingus; step-sons, Chris Linville and Scott Linville; step-daughter, Debbie Dowdy; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Mike Whittington and Bill Whittington; sister, Erma Tackett; and many other loving relatives and friends. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 29 at 2:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home- Kettering, where a visitation will be held the same day for an hour prior (1-2pm). Burial to follow at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery in Beavercreek.
