Donald Ray “Don” Daniels, age 80 of Huber Heights, OH passed away on Sunday, April 20. He was born January 28, 1945 in Ashland, KY to the late William and Doshie Daniels.
Don volunteered to serve his country in the Army from March 27, 1963 until March 21, 1966, where he received an honorable discharge. Don spent most of his life working hard to support his family, and throughout the years, he never failed to provide for them. While he was a hard worker, he could always be counted on to bring his unique humor and comments to any situation, bringing a smile and a laugh to those around him. He loved to golf, fish, hunt, and there wasn’t a sport that he didn’t enjoy watching. However, the true pleasure of his lifetime was his children and grandchildren. Anyone who knew him knew just how fiercely he loved them. It is not an exaggeration to say that he would do anything and go anywhere for them. He quite literally traveled the country to ensure he was there for every important event in their lives. His grandchildren were the light of his life; he lived for them, and he ensured that each and every one of them knew that.
Dad/P-Paw, thank you for all the calls, wise words of advice, the love you gave us, and the beautiful lives we've lived because of you and your boundless love for us. We are all better people because of you. We will forever miss you and love you.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, William and Doshie, and his siblings, Billie Broughton, Ida Mitchell, Helen Cornette, Henry Daniels, and Albert Daniels.
He is survived by his children, Donna and Dan LaJeunesse, Shannon Shipp, and Donald and Alice Daniels; grandchildren, Daniel LaJeunesse, Zachary Shipp, Donovan LaJeunesse, Ashley Daniels, Dylan Shipp, and Taylor Daniels; and siblings, Shirley Morgan, James Daniels, Emma Jean Kouns, and Amos Daniels.
