DONALD KEITH COLLINS, 69, of Dayton passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021. He was born January 7, 1951 to the late Elmer Collins and Myra J. (Rogers) Hanger, who survives him. Don is also survived by his loving wife, Kathleen L. Collins.
He is also survived by daughters, Lynn Marie, Angela Sue, and Amy Lea; several grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Sue Shouse, Sherie Lee Dey, and Debra Carpenter; and many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Pinnick.
Don was a proud retired veteran of the United States Army where he ranked SSG E6. He was an extremely decorated soldier, earning two Purple Hearts, one Bronze Start and one Silver Star. He was truly honored to serve his country.
Don was also an avid fisherman. He enjoyed sports, particularly watching the Cincinnati Reds and rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes, which he never missed a game. He will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Vietnam Veterans Association in Don's memory. The family will hold a private graveside service at Dayton National Cemetery.
