Donald Lee Bayus, age 84 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born September 3, 1933 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Frank G. and Lillian (Bauman) Bayus.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Foland.
Don is survived by his wife of 34 years, Mary K. (Hill) Bayus; children, Gregory L. Bayus, Diane B. (Will) Snyder, Trisha A. (Jeff) Boggs and Brad L. (Megan) Bayus; grandchildren, Tom, Sidney, Sami, Ryan, Nicole, Grant, TJ, Koen, Jace, Ryker, Blake, Vivian, Weston and Oliver; a great grandson, Grayson; close friends, Nick Warring and Bill Wagner as well as many other extended family members and friends.
Don was a 1951 graduate of Roosevelt High School and attended Central Academy of Commercial Art in Cincinnati to pursue a career in commercial advertising. Don had a very successful career starting as a commercial artist and retiring as owner of Parker Advertising of Dayton. He was a US Army veteran honorably serving during WWII. Don enjoyed many activities throughout his life including bowling, golf and playing cards with his buddies. He also loved his annual fishing trips to Rice Lake with his family and his many visits to St. George Island with Mary. He was a devoted caregiver to his wife, Mary and loved spending time with family. Don attended St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Kettering with his father, Frank.
A private graveside ceremony will take place at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Family will host a celebration of his life for all his family and friends at 12:00 noon Friday, July 27, 2018 at 1229 Chevington Ct., Centerville, OH 45459.
